Agency Collaboration Lead To Arrests

MCSO Deputies Make Arrests After GJPD K-9 Alert

Mesa County, Colo. -- The excellent working relationship between the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Junction Police Department was on display again this weekend. Working together on several contacts lead to the arrest of two individuals on drug charges. 

On Friday, January 22, Jason Selders, 39, of  Clifton, was contacted by deputies on a traffic stop. During the contact a Grand Junction Police Department Officer arrived to assist. The GJPD Officer's K-9 Joker, alerted on the car, indicating the presence of drugs.  

During the search of the car deputies found methamphetamine and a glass pipe. Selders was arrested and charged with Possession Schedule II Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and traffic violations.

Michelle Kline, 47, of Loma, was contacted by deputies on a traffic stop for failing to drive in a single lane (weaving). A Grand Junction Police Department Officer assisted on the stop and their K-9 Joker, alerted on the car. 

During a search of the car, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. Kline was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. Once at the facility additional methamphetamine was found in Kline's bra.     

Kline was booked on Possession of a Schedule II Drug, Introducing Contraband in the First Degree, Distribution 4 grams or less of a Schedule II Drug or 2 grams of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and additional traffic violations.
