Safe Kids Community Classes

Safe Kids Community Classes, Three Part Series

Mesa County, Colo. -- The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is hosting a free three-part community class on Teens and Prescription Drugs and Heroin Abuse. The first class is October 22, at the Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel, 736 24.5 Road, Grand Junction, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The second class will be November 19 and the final class will be December 17, (times and locations to be determined). Prescription drug abuse and subsequent heroin addictions within our young population are becoming a significant public health and public safety concern.

These informative classes seek to educate parents and teens about the dangers to teens and trends we are seeing in our community and in the nation. Please RSVP to these free classes through the Safe Kids America website or call Deputy Chad Williams at 970-986-1187 for more information.

The media is encouraged to cover these community classes in advance and during the classes. Media should contact the Mesa County Sheriff's Office PIO directly for scheduling in advance or speak with Deputy Williams during the classes.
