Infant Son, Suspected Victim Of Child Abuse

Mesa County, Colo. -- Yesterday, Fruita resident, Zachary McLaughlin, 21, was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for the second time this year. He was booked yesterday on three felony charges of child abuse, one misdemeanor charge of child abuse, two felony counts of violation of bail bond conditions, and one misdemeanor charge of violation of a protection order.
Investigators were originally called to a local hospital on October 13, after an infant was brought into the emergency facility with possible broken bones. Through the course of the investigation, the arrest warrant notes Zachary admitted to having a temper and knowing that he may have injured the child. He is currently being held in the jail on a $10,000 cash only bond. He is scheduled to appear in court next on October 22, at 8:30 a.m.
