Man Makes Bomb Threat

Mesa County, Colo.-- On Friday, at 4 p.m., the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Office was evacuated after witnesses heard a man state there was a bomb in the Clerk's office, at the Clifton branch. The original call into dispatch claimed a man matching Derrold McClanahan's description was fighting right outside the Clerk's office.

A bystander was sitting on top of Derrold when deputies arrived on-scene and multiple people all claimed Derrold was the man who made the bomb threat.

Deputies searched the building and did not located a bomb. Derrold was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of false reporting of an explosive device, obstructing government operations, resisting arrest, third degree assault, second degree assault of a peace officer and more.
