MESA COUNTY, Colo – The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred Saturday morning.
Around 5:00 am, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on the 450 block of Countryside Lane.
Deputies located a house with multiple gunshots to the garage area. An 18-year-old male inside of the home was injured. He was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle prior to the arrival of deputies. The male sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body, and while a serious injury, not considered life threatening at this time.
Investigators continue to collect evidence related to this crime and interview witnesses. Countryside Lane at D ½ Road remains closed while deputies investigate.
At this point of the investigation, authorities believe this to be an isolated incident.
