Two men found dead in the river Sunday identified

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - Through forensic evidence and the help of the public, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office was able to positively identify both people pulled from the Colorado River on Sunday.

Investigators along with the Mesa County Coroner's Office are currently in the process of notifying next of kin for both men. Once all family is notified, we will release their names to the public.

Both identities of the deceased men were confirmed by their fingerprints.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will send out a press release as to the cause and manner of death when it is available.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
