Fallen law enforcement will be honored at vigil

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - The Mesa County Sheriff's Office will hold a Memorial Vigil to honor all fallen law enforcement as part of National Police Week.

The annual remembrance is at the Mesa County Sheriff's Office at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday May 19, 2016.

The public is invited to attend along with their families. 

Before the Memorial Vigil, a Touch-a-truck event will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Mesa County Sheriff's Office parking lot.

Firetrucks, and law enforcement vehicles including patrol cars and the bearcat will be on display for kids to explore.

Public parking will be in the Criminal Justice Center Parking lot.

CLOSURES FOR THE EVENT
  • Rice Street will be closed between Highway 340 and W White Ave beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  • Mesa County Sheriff’s Office parking lot will be closed at 5:00 p.m.
  • No jail visitation Thursday evening.
