Deputies Respond To Adult Male, Shooting Injury

Shooting Incident Active Investigation

Mesa County, Colo. -- As of November 2, 2015, evidence in this investigation leads to this incident being an accidental self-inflicted shooting. To date, the handgun has not been located. Anyone who knows where the gun is at or finds it, should call 911 or non-emergency dispatch at 242-6707, to report it.

Mesa County, Colo. -- Just before 6 a.m., deputies were notified of an adult male who arrived at a local hospital for medical treatment of a leg injury. Deputies believe he was injured in the area of 3200 E Road, Clifton. Through further investigation, it appears the man was injured with a handgun and deputies are currently investigating the circumstance behind the shooting.

Deputies have learned the handgun was possibly thrown on the side of the road, E Road, in Clifton, between 32 and 33 Roads. An alternate location for the handgun is possibly in the canal in the same area. Deputies have searched the area but are asking anyone who might locate it or anything suspicious in that immediate area, should call 911 or non-emergency dispatch at 242-6707.
