Mother's Boyfriend Suspect In Child Abuse

Andrew Herne, 23, of Grand Junction

Mesa County, Colo. -- On Monday, Andrew Herne, 23, of Grand Junction, was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on one charge of child abuse, a class 3 felony. He remains in jail as of this posting, being held on a $60,000 cash or surety bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on September 30, at 8 a.m.

Andrew is the boyfriend of the baby's mother, Brianna. The baby boy was nearly 3 months old when injuries were found by an emergency room physician at a local hospital in August 2014. A review of the various injuries to the baby by multiple medical professionals resulted in broken ribs and legs were not accidental trauma.
