Man Fires Off Round From Glock & Woman Drives Stolen Car To Visit Jail Inmate

Overnight Arrests Include Charges For Stolen Car & Firing Gun

Mesa County, Colo. -- On Thursday night, patrol deputies were notified by Montrose law enforcement that a stolen vehicle was possibly in the area of the Mesa County Detention Facility. A deputy located a vehicle matching the description and license plate of a vehicle showing as stolen, out of Montrose County, parked in the front parking lot of the jail.

The deputy contacted Beverly Lock, 43, of Montrose, in the driver's seat of the suspected stolen car. She was ultimately arrested and charged with one count of Motor Vehicle Theft. She was released today on a $5,000 PR bond, scheduled to appear in court next on October 2, at 8:15 a.m.

And, early this morning, patrol deputies responded to a report of a shot fired in the area of 32 Road and I-70 Business Loop, Clifton. Through interviews of people contacted in that immediate area by deputies, Stuart McFarland, is suspected of firing off a single round from a Glock 21 .45 caliber pistol located in his possession. Stuart is 28-years-old and from Clifton.

Deputies arrested and booked Stuart into the jail on three counts of Felony Menacing, and one count each of Prohibited Use of a Weapon and Reckless Endangerment. He received a $10,000 bond. There is currently no booking photo available of Stuart.
