On 1/12/19 just after 1 pm deputies were dispatched to a Clifton home for a report of a 16 month old girl who was taken from the home. Initial reports indicated that Azealiea Campbell was taken by Lydia Campbell (DOB 1-4-93) who left the child’s home in a white Acura. As there was no belief that the child was in danger of being hurt an Amber Alert was not posted. Authorities enlisted the public’s assistance in watching out for Lydia, Azealiea, or the vehicle and at approximately 3:30 pm they were located on 32 Road in Clifton.
Lydia and her younger sister Madelyn Campbell (DOB 9-2-00) were each arrested on charges of 2nd degree kidnapping(F4,) violation of a custody order (F5,) 2nd degree burglary (F3,) and misdemeanor child abuse. They are both being held in the Mesa County Detention Facility pending their first appearance on Monday 1/14/19.
