Clifton man arrested in connection with May stabbing

MESA COUNTY, Colo – Mesa County Sheriff’s Office investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Jacob Box, 35, of Clifton related to a stabbing that occurred last month.

On May 27, 2020 at approximately 2:45 in the afternoon, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an assault in front of a residence on F ½ Road near 32 Road.

An adult male was found on the side of the road injured with several stab wounds. The 47-year-old was transported to the hospital via ambulance and later flown to University Hospital in Utah for advanced medical care. He has since been released from the hospital.

Box is facing the following charges:
  • Criminal Attempt of Murder in the Second Degree (Class 3 Felony)
  • Assault in the First Degree (Class 3 Felony)

Box was already in custody on unrelated charges. He is currently being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility. For updated bond amounts visit our website.
