Grand Junction man arrested after stolen camper found

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen 32-foot camper trailer at a property on the 1300 block of N 23rd St. Wednesday afternoon.

Bryan Johnson, 41, of Grand Junction was arrested for the following charges:
  • First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft (Class 4 Felony) 
  • Possession of Weapons by a Previous Offender (Class 5 Felony)
  • Possession of a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon (Class 5 Felony)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (Class 4 Felony)
While Johnson was being taken into custody, two deputies were bit by two dogs on the property. The deputies were treated for minor injuries.

Animal Control cited the owners for failure to control the dogs and is continuing to investigate the incident.

Johnson was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility and is being held on a $2,000 Bond.
