Woman Charged With Providing Meth To Teen

Grand Junction On Bond For Previous Meth Charges, Booked Overnight

Mesa County, Colo. -- School resource deputies investigated a middle school student this week for methamphetamine use, which ended with one adult being arrested for the second time in less than a year on methamphetamine related charges. Through the course of the investigation, Justine L. Murphy, 35, of Grand Junction, is suspected of providing the drug(s) to a teenager. She was arrested yesterday evening in the 900 block of Northern Way, Grand Junction, and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of:

  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor 
  • Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance (meth)
  • Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (meth) 
  • Violation of Bail Bonds
  • Unlawful Use of a Controlled Substance 
  • Child Abuse 

In addition, the teen, 15-year-old, KC Hatley, was arrested today on charges of  unlawful possession of controlled substance (meth), a class 4 felony, and unlawful use of a controlled substance ( a misdemeanor). KC is being booked into the Grand Mesa Youth Detention Facility.

Special Note: Under C.R.S. 19-1-304(1)(b.5) the public has access to information of juvenile arrests when charged with a class 1-4 felony. A booking photo will not be released of KC unless or until he is advised by a judge he is being charged as an adult.
